Tetsunabe (Fukuoka: Gyoza)
Tetsunabe
Open 5-11pm. Closed Sundays.

Tetsunabe gyoza (the dish after which this restaurant is named) refers to crispy, bite-size miniature gyoza dumplings prepared in an iron skillet. It's one of Fukuoka's better-known local dishes, and you can sample it here alongside stewed chicken wings, mentaiko (spicy cod roe), potato salad and other small izakaya-style dishes. Note that customers line up during peak hours, so it's recommended that you get here early (or late).
