Coredo Nihonbashi

Built on the site of the old Tokyu Department store right above Nihonbashi station, this new office skyscraper also includes a five-story shopping and dining complex which opened to the public on March 30. Here are a few of the new choices for Nihonbashi diners.
Maison Kayser: Bakery and cafe (B1F)

Excellent breads and pastries are available to take out, or you can stop for a pastry and an espresso in the lobby seating area. There's also a nice lunch menu, priced at Y1200 and Y1600. 03-3516-0030.
Tokyo Roux: Japanese curry (B1F)

From the ubiquitous Soup Stock chain comes this new Japanese-curry specialty shop; besides curries they serve things like "hayashi rice", gumbos, ragouts, stews and anything else that can be termed a "roux", along with various rice options. (The "Tokyo curry" is our favorite so far.) Drinks include lassi and iced chai. 03-3231-5622.
Sant Pau: Spanish (Annex 1/2F)

Serious Catalan cuisine in this fancy Tokyo branch of Chef Carme Ruscalleda's famous Barcelona restaurant. The tasting menu is Y21,000, and main dishes run around Y7000 each. There's a more informal wine bar downstairs, with some 350 varieties of mostly Spanish wines and a light tapas menu. 03-3517-5700.
Idealplat: French (4F)

"Modern Provence Dining" is what it says at the entrance, and indeed the cooking is modern, light and authentically Provencal, with everything from bouillabaisse to cous cous. In the afternoons it's a cafe - a good place to stop for a leisurely cappucino and tart tatin. 03-3516-2181.
Ishingo Yong-Jiang: Chinese (4F)

This stylishly decorated upscale Chinese restaurant specializes in seafood and duck dishes (including Peking Duck). 03-3516-0161.
Sai Ka Bo: Korean (4F)

Traditional and authentic Korean cuisine, ranging from simple "home-style" cooking to more elaborate banquet fare. Full-course dinners are priced Y3000-8000. 03-5214-0108.
Beato: Italian (4F)

Homemade pastas and Northern Italian cooking, with a big wine cellar. Lunch is Y1600-4500. 03-3272-6337.
Pizzeria da Cibo: Pizza (4F)

Inexpensively priced pizzas direct from their wood-burning pizza oven, plus a limited menu of antipasti. 03-3272-6855.
Hirata Bokujyou: Tonkatsu (4F)

Capitalizing on the gourmet pork boom, this shop serves both traditional tonkatsu dishes plus the much fancier-sounding "pork cuisine". 03-6214-3129.
