Tucked away on a quiet Gaienmae back street, directly across from a bird shop, this three-story part-time art gallery is a relaxing refuge for an afternoon coffee and pastry.

There are big windows, white-washed gallery walls, and bouncy Brazilian lounge and jazz played on the shop's impressive vacuum-tube amp sound system. The cafe also serves as a showroom for a line of original sofas, chairs, tables and lighting fixtures.

At lunch (served till 3pm) you'll find above-average curries, sandwiches, pastas and soup and bagel platters; in the evenings the menu expands to include salads, crostone grilled sandwiches and assorted stews.
