Day 4: Hirosaki

Day 4

A little fuzzy
this morning as
we departed for
Hirosaki. Today
is a day off so
we took a lei-
surely drive
from Akita to
Hirosaki. It's a
beautiful drive
from Akita up
Route 7, and
they certainly
cultivate a lot
of rice in these
parts - the road
is lined with
paddy fields
almost all they
way up. Stopped
at a fantastic
rustic onsen and
after our bath I
had possibly the
best fish I've
ever tasted -
the iwana from
the local stream
was amazing.
After showering
at the hotel we
headed out on
the town to find
a place that
would feed us.
Kitchiya Dining
Bar proved to be
up to the chal-
lenge, providing
large portions
of pasta at a
great price.
Nice place to
spend a couple
of hours, with
good food (in
that Japanese/
Italian sort of
way).
