Kanda: Sake bar

€Data
Nomel is a sake-
tasting bar offering
sixty different
premium sakes for
you to sample and
compare. They have
an open-bar system
with no time limit,
and since you pour
your own sake you
can try out tiny
sips from lots of
different bottles
until you find your
favorites. The fixed
price for the open
bar is Y3240, and
you can bring your
own food, get food
delivered, or order
oden or grilled fish
from the shop's
small kitchen.

The decor is fairly
minimalist, although
unlike some other
sake-tasting bars in
town at least there
are tables and
chairs. Online res-
ervations (in Japa-
nese) can be made at
their website: sa-
kenomel.jp/system.
If they're full on a
particular night you
might also check out
sister shops Sake
Lover (also in Kan-
da) and Bucho fea-
turing Yamachan
(near Shinjuku
Gyoen), which have
the same self-ser-
vice open-bar system
and a similarly wide
sake selection.
