Ichigaya: Dim sum

€Data
Chinese dim sum is
served with a small
selection of Japa-
nese craft beers at
this casual cafe.
Eight varieties of
steamed and fried
dumplings are on
offer, along with
nine small dishes,
all quite reasonably
priced. The four or
five craft beers on
rotating tap usually
feature at least one
interesting choice,
with pints going for
Y800-870.

The fried gyoza
dumplings here were
especially good,
nicely spiced and
well textured, the
skins chewy on top
and crisply charred
on the bottom. Our
sliced roast pork
and onions with
spicy dressing was
another highlight,
although the rather
glutinous steamed
shrimp dumplings
were a bit of a
letdown. Dumpling
plates start at Y300
and small dishes at
Y290, while weekday
lunch set menus are
Y900 (with no lunch
on Saturdays).
