Hachi/
Hatchobori: Beer bar

€Data
There aren't many
craft-beer bars in
this neck of the
woods, so Hachi is
worth knowing about
if you're looking
for a beer in this
neighborhood. The
basement room is
spacious and com-
fortable, with a
variety of seating
options and old-
fashioned wood-heavy
decor. Surprisingly
though, the 26 taps
offered only a few
craft beers we were
interested in, and
only one or two
foreign imports were
available.

The small food menu
is more promising,
and we enjoyed a
very nice grilled
Galicia pork (Y980)
and a voluminous,
beautifully prepared
roast vegetable
platter with our
beers. The small
amuse bouche dishes
- avocado mousse and
marinated turnips -
were also quite
tasty; they come
with your Y300 table
charge.

Japanese craft beers
are priced at Y840
for a pint-size
glass (480ml) and
Y490 for a half
(270ml). The few
imported beers are
Y1140 and Y680. As
this is mainly an
office-building
neighborhood,
there's no lunch on
Saturdays.
