Sasazuka: Takoyaki
¥6383-3120
¤Data
This charming neigh-
borhood shop serves
takoyaki, akashiya-
ki, octopus okono-
miyaki pancakes, and
kakigori shaved-ice
desserts. The takoy-
aki iss a fairly
orthodox version,
studded with big,
tasty chunks of
octopus in a gooey
filling. It's served
on its own or in a
snack called tako-
sen, which is two
takoyaki balls in a
crunchy shrimp-
cracker sandwich.

The egg-based aka-
shiyaki dumplings
come plain or in a
version that incor-
porates fresh-tast-
ing leek alongside
the octopus. During
the day, the plump
kakigori shaved-ice
balls seem to be the
biggest draw. These
come in interesting
variations like
avocado-milk and
strawberry-pista-
chio, with an ever-
changing roster of
flavors.
