It's like stepping
back into time, back
to maybe the early
1960s, when you walk
through the sliding
doors here. The
furnishings consist
of long, battered
cafeteria tables and
low stools; the
walls are plastered
with sheets of paper
listing sake names
and prices, and the
crowd is almost
entirely after-work
salarymen. The food
is fairly average
(grilled fish,
chicken, oden), but
the sake selection
is excellent, with
low prices (general-
ly Y400-500 per
glass). Try to get
there before 6 or
after 9pm if you
want a seat.
