While you can find a
number of bars in
the Shinjuku/Yoyogi
area serving Bel-
gian, German, and
"world" beers, one
thing missing until
now was a place to
drink Japanese
microbrews. Filling
the gap is Watering
Hole, a lively lit-
tle bar with twenty
craft beers, mostly
from Japan, served
on draft. Prices are
about average for
this kind of beer,
but note that pints
are a much better
deal here than half-
pints.
The bar area is
attractive, although
table seating can be
tight when the shop
is busy. Currently
they offer a limited
menu of bar snacks
(sausages, potato
salad, etc.), but
they're expected to
expand the menu in
the future. The shop
will also begin
brewing their own
beer sometime in
2013.
