WAOH HAKUGIN
WEIZEN
One of the best
Japanese
microbrew
examples of the
classic German
weizen, a wheat
ale made with a
special yeast
that imparts
distinct aromas
often likened to
cloves and
bananas. Brewed
with malted
wheat (for
lightness) and
malted barley,
and minimally
hopped for low
bitterness, this
beer is light
yet extremely
flavorful and
invigorating.
The
intermingling of
sweetness and
spice, and a
rich lingering
finish add up to
a distinctive
beer experience.
Great for
summer. On tap
at Popeye
Bakushu Club in
Ryogoku.
