BASS PALE ALE
One of England's
most popular
ales largely in
the traditional
"bitter" style,
Bass is a good
place to start
for those
interested in
something
different from
common yellow
lager beer.
Widely available
in Tokyo. Clear
amber color with
dense creamy
head, faint
fruity/malt
aroma, medium
body with tangy
malt flavor,
moderately low
carbonation,
restrained
herbal
bitterness, and
a slowly fading
finish with
medium duration
marked by a good
balance of malt
sweetness and
hop bitterness.
Alcohol about 5%
. Not as
striking or
complex as many
craft brewed
pale ales, but
remember that
Bass is mass-
produced for
worldwide export
.
