Estate Wines was founded by Austrian native Wolfgang Forster. Forster originally worked in the production side of the wine trade, working with pioneering winemakers in the Nelson / Motueka region of New Zealand. Switching to the import business after moving to Japan, Forster has traveled extensively in his roles as buyer and agent, searching for the finest wines and wineries around the world. Forster is also deeply involved in wine education and hosts a variety of seminars on wine-related topics throughout Japan.
