The pizzas at Pizzeria Capoli are well constructed, with notably tasty crusts that are easy to fold. The crusts are satisfyingly chewy and full of flavor, seasoned with perhaps a pinch more salt than average. You can choose from more than two dozen pizza toppings at dinnertime, with somewhat smaller menus at lunchtime and for take-out.

One particularly distinctive dish here is Panuzzo - basically a pizza-dough sandwich - that's baked once, stuffed with cheese, proscuitto and vegetables, then baked a second time to impart a crisp exterior while melting the cheese inside. It's served only on weekdays at lunchtime. Another special dish is Pizza Fritta (fried pizza), served at dinnertime only.

In addition to pizzas the kitchen turns out pastas, meaty main dishes, seasonal antipasti and desserts like tiramisu and affogato. The basement dining room is relatively spacious, with an impressive Ferrara ceramic pizza oven at the entrance.

The restaurant is located across the street from the Blue Bottle coffee shop in the Shinjuku Station NeWOMaN shopping complex, a convenient spot for take-out orders.
